After posting about sushi the other day…I ran across these pictures of candy sushi that I made for a class I taught about Japan a while ago. It was a big hit and they were really fun to make.
I basically made rice krispy treats and while they were still warm I wrapped them up with fruit roll-ups.
I used Swedish fish, licorice and gummy worms for the ingredients.
I used orange non-parels (sprinkles) and orange jelly beans cut in half for the fish roe.
I used icing as the wasabi.
I used flattened cut up gum drops as the ginger.
(Although afterwards I thought I could have used squished up air heads for both of those ingredients.)
Try it out. Really fun and tasty. Even people who don’t like sushi will like these!
Aren’t they pretty?
