Meet Us

Hi.  I’m Erin.  I created ‘A Bird and a Bean’ in 2010 to document the silly little things the kids and I do together.  They’re growing up so fast.  And I know (no matter how many cute ones that I pin) that I will never, ever finish a baby book!   I love to get creative and crafty and I love to share it all with you.

What else would you like to know?  I love a bargain.  I love Jesus.   I love anything that I can DIY.  I love cooking, but I hate baking!  I loathe the laundry and sometimes takes me weeks to put it away.  I only like bananas when they’re green.

I love lists.  I love crossing things off of my list (with a pen!) I talk too much and I get loud when I am excited.  I love coffee, but rarely finish a cup.  (I get excited to go to sleep because I know I get coffee when I wake up!)  I teach middle school during the day and then come home to life….2 kids (the bird and the bean), 1 fab husband, a mean fish, a huge dog, 4 chickens, 2 hermit crabs and a house filled with piles.  (I do clean the piles, but no matter what I do they never disappear.)  I love my life!   Thanks for coming to visit.

Hi.  My name is Amy.  I’m the Free Printable Contributor here.  I’m daytime graphic designer and full-time mother, wife, and daughter. I have two adorable boys who fill my days with dirt, noise and unbearable love. They’re actually the reason that I quit practicing architecture (okay, I’ll level with you on that one, the economy forced tons of layoffs so I got out early) and took up graphic design.

When my eldest was born I couldn’t find the perfect birth announcement so I made my own. Friends of mine mentioned that I should make the designs available to others, so that’s just what I did. I haven’t looked back since. It’s honestly tons more fun than designing stairwells and bathrooms. One of my favorite parts of the graphics business is seeing families grow.

Erin had me design her son’s birth announcement. I’ve since done their holiday cards, the Bird’s party invitations, room decor prints, and just about anything graphics related for her. I consider her a good friend now and making friends is definitely the best part of my job! You can also find me at www.aproffittablelife.blogspot.com or www.proffittproductions.etsy.com.
