countdown

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Astrobrights Papers by Neenah Paper for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

School starts way too soon.  The bird and the bean are both very excited about it!  Me, not so much.  Lucie starts Kindergarten in a couple of weeks and Sam starts preschool in early September.  I will cry both days.  They ask me every morning if today is school.  So, I decided it was time to make a paper chain countdown!  A visual representation of how many days they have left.  I cry a little every morning when they pull off a link.  🙁

We used Astrobrights paper for this project.  It’s just so bright and colorful.  It comes in 23 colors.  It was a perfect choice for these paper chains!  They were so pretty that we even made an extra chain to hang up in Abby’s hospital room!

All you need:  paper, scissors and glue!

Step one.  Cut strips of paper for the littles.  Have the older kids cut their own strips.  I made dotted lines to help Lucie cut her strips straight.

Step two.  Make a colorful paper chain.

Step three.  Display them proudly and pull off a link every morning until school starts!  I hate it!  🙂  Summer went so fast!

Astrobrights is having a “Give a Brighter Year” Sweepstakes right now.  You can enter until September 10th by liking Astrobrights on facebook.  You can win $30,000 worth of school supplies for the elementary school of your choice!  How cool is that?

They also have bi-weekly, family friendly “Make Something Astrobright” challenges for chances to win some great prizes.  You can check that out on their facebook page too.
