Mornings get crazy. They’re busy for everyone. Whether you’re running out the door to get to work or rushing kids out the door for school, mornings just get away from us. We homeschool, and we’re not even immune to the craziness of the morning.
I get up super early to get some computer work done and have quiet time before the day starts. And coffee. Always coffee. But inevitably the kids also wake up and wander downstairs like hungry little zombies in search of breakfast. And, it’s always before I am finished with my work. Mornings are my strict office hours and I have to finish. So breakfast has become a source of stress for me. I know that I could get up even earlier at like 4:00, but that sounds awful. I won’t let them have screen time before school, so they will read, but only for so long since they are still little. I can’t have distractions while I finish up my work and my breakfast zombies don’t like cereal! What the heck?
Everyone knows that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, so being busy is no excuse to skip it.
I’ve been making a big batch of hard boiled eggs on the weekends, so they can have toast and eggs, while I finish up. But, they don’t want that every morning. And I don’t buy toaster pastries (often), because sugar is no way to start your morning, either.
But, I have found a solution! And now I win my mornings with belVita Breakfast Biscuits. What? Yes.
Breakfast Biscuits!
Have you ever had them? I hadn’t really given them much thought, until recently when I saw a big display of them at Meijer. They have so many good looking flavors. Like Crunchy Blueberry and Crunchy Chocolate. And they have soft baked varieties like Mixed Berry and Oats and Chocolate! They even have packages of little bite sized ones. They are in the cookie and cracker isle. I let the kids each pick a box, so we ended up with Cinnamon Brown Sugar and Soft Baked Banana Bread! YUM!
They’re a great source of whole grains and part of a complete breakfast that includes fruit and low-fat dairy.
So, now the kids can happily fix their own breakfast each morning, while I finish up my work AND they get 4 hours of nutritions, steady energy for a great day of school! And I can continue getting up at 5:00 to get a few hours of work in. And not 4:00! #MeijerMorningWin
Wanna taste the flavors? belVita is having a sampling event at Meijer on 1/23/16 from 8am to 2pm for shoppers to try some of their many varieties. So, just head on over to Meijer that day, do some groceries, taste some breakfast biscuits and pick up a few boxes. belVita Morning Win.
