Hello, everyone! How are you on this Saturday morning? I am actually on vacation, BY MYSELF!! Aaaahhh!! I can’t believe it! How many times do we get to go on vacation without our kids?!! Never, right?!!
Well, my cousin is having her baby shower this morning and she is having her baby in October so she asked me to come out and take maternity photos of her and also take pictures at her shower. I said yes, immediately and then went and talked to my husband about it, lol. I’m lucky to have a husband with a pretty flexible schedule and job so he was able to get off Friday the 8th and Monday the 11th. It’s a short trip, but I am loving being here with a lot of my family!
So, anyway, let’s move on to the craft I have for you today.
Are you ready for your kids to go back to school?!! I’m almost there! I have most of their school supplies purchased and some new clothes and shoes. The past couple weeks I’ve been trying to figure out what I wanted to make for my 2 boys’ teachers as a welcome back to school gift. I do this every year and I love making them and the teachers are always so grateful. It was a lot of fun to make and I love the results!
I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut out a box I purchased from their online store HERE. The box I had purchased was for ‘Mom’ so I just found other teacher and school related cut files and used those instead. The ‘Write Teacher’ printable tag was made by my husband. He’s a graphic designer and is always so willing to help me with little projects like this. I told him I wanted something really simple and this is what he came up with. I love it!
This is the other side of the box. I got the back to school file HERE and the Teacher apple file HERE. (The Silhouette Online Store is my best friend, if you can’t tell! )
This box is my favorite of the 2. I used a 6×6 paper pad from DCWV called ‘the grade school stack’. I absolutely LOVE the papers that come in this stack! If you saw my post last month, the teacher scrapbook album, this is the same paper that I used for that. I am so bummed though because I don’t have any of the 12×12 paper left and I can’t find the collection in stores where I live. You can buy it on ebay and amazon, but it’s kind of pricey. At least with amazon you can get prime shipping if you’re a member, so it’s not as bad.
The box cut file comes with the front and back covers and side covers to cut, but I just decided it was easier to measure the size and cut it with my paper trimmer.
The box I cute with my Cameo was too small to fit pencils in it. That was my original idea, was to use pencils, but I realized they weren’t going to work so I decided to use crayons and I’m ok with that, even though you don’t really “write” with crayons.
Here’s the other box with it’s tag.
And here’s the front of the box. I thought this cut file was SO cute!! I can’t wait to use it on a scrapbooking page! 🙂
My husband created 2 different printable tags. One has a crayon like you see here on my project and the other one has a pencil on it. If you want to use this simple tag he created I have them uploaded as a zip file to 4shared HERE. They are saved as illustrator files, jpeg’s and a pdf. I also have a Silhouette studio 3 file for the tags you see on my projects that already have the circle cut lines on them. (Does that all make sense? lol) Feel free to print them off and use them for a simple and easy back to school gift for your kids’ teachers.
Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you have a great weekend! I’ll be back next month with another project for you! I can’t wait! 🙂
