snow paint

February 27, 2010 by Erin 4 Comments

It snowed again!! I really do love the snow – but I am so ready for spring. I can’t wait to see some daffodils and tulips poking out of the ground. We made some snow paint earlier in the winter and the bird really loves it. She asks for it every time we play outside. It’s fun stuff. I got some spray bottles from the dollar store and filled them up with water. Then I put drops of food coloring in them until it was the color I wanted. I color coordinated the lids to the color inside the bottle because I’m like that! Lucie likes to practice naming the colors – so this was handy for some outside games too. Easy peasy. I might make them a little darker next time. I looked for the squeeze bottles (like for ketchup and mustard at picnics) at the dollar store, because I thought that might be easier to squeeze, but they didn’t have them. Perhaps I will stock up this summer and save them for next year. These worked fine.

So cute and surprised to be outside in the cold. Not his favorite place.

For the record, though – she wanted me to just bring colored water out in a bucket for the kids to play with.

I want it to snow once more so cash can try to “snow paint.” He would love it.
