DIY winter village

I was over at We Use Coupons on Sunday sharing a tutorial for this DIY winter village.  Come on over and check out how to make yourself a really cute Winter Village with things from your friendly local Dollar Store.  🙂

It was so easy to do.  I love that it’s a cute Christmas decoration and the bird and the bean love to play with it.  I’m not nervous about them breaking it or messing it up since it only cost about 10 bucks to make.

I chose white and some glitter to make it more festive.  But, you could make it any color your little heart desires!    Some funky, cool, new modern color to match your homes decor would be great fun.  I was thinking of doing them orange or yellow or turquoise …even bright pink.  But, in the end, I chickened out and stuck with plain glossy white.  🙂  Let me know if you make one.  The Dollar Tree only has the little villages this time of year so get on over there!  It might even be fun (especially for older kids) if you painted it white and then let them paint the details on.  They will surely do a better than the original paint job, plus then it would be “theirs”.  So many possibilities!  Have fun.
