Oh, Frisch’s. We do love our beloved Big Boy around here. I have happy childhood memories of eating there with my grandparents. And then being a serving there in high school as my very first big girl job. And now it’s my 7 year olds most favorite restaurant ever. It’s really the tartar sauce for him. He loves it so much we’re actually giving him a jar this year for Christmas! And it will probably be his favorite gift!
I was recently invited to a fun, family-style blogger night to try out the family dinners and the new hot fudge cake! They are amazing. It was awesome to branch out, because I’m a creature of habit and almost aways order the same thing. (I love my Big Boy on rye with onion rings and extra tarter sauce for dipping!)
Right now you can enjoy a choice of 5 different family dinners for just $7.99. They include Country Fried Chicken, Country Fried Steak, Carved Turkey, Roast Beef and Meatloaf. They are all served with mashed potatoes and gravy, plus green beans and a roll. Delicious!
So, let get to this Peppermint Hot Fudge Cake. It’s amazing and it’s available for a limited time, just until until February 7! This is the first time since this original dessert debuted in restaurants in 1970 that it’s been offered in another flavor. And it’s genius. Creamy peppermint ice-cream, chocolate cake, thick hot fudge, whipped cream and peppermint candy bits….with a cherry on top. This is a must try. (Don’t worry, the original hot fudge cake is still available at restaurants, too.)
So, why the new sweet treat at Frisch’s? Chef was inspired to try something new and festive because of Frisch’s partnership with the Cincinnati Ballet’s Nutcracker.
From the very first performance of “The Nutcracker” in 1974, Frisch’s Restaurants has been the Cincinnati Ballet’s primary sponsor. It’s one of the longest-lasting examples of corporate sponsorship in American arts history.
And this peppermint hot fudge cake is so pretty that it looks like it could have been made right in the Land of Sweets, and is fit for the Sugar Plum Fairy herself.
If you live near a Frisch’s Big Boy, get there before February 7th and try their limited time offering of the Peppermint Hot Fudge Cake. It won’t be around long, and you don’t want to miss out. And be sure to get in on the selfie contest! You may win!
Or maybe I will! 😉
Thanks to Frisch’s for sponsoring today’s post!
