Omron Challenge – week one!

FitnessChallengeAmbassador

Exciting stuff!  Last week I shared with you about the new Omron fitness challenge through Mamavation that I’m a part of.

And now week one of the challenge is officially on.  The first weigh in was Sunday morning (yesterday).  I’m happy to announce that I am already 3 pounds lighter than my application weight!!  I’m sure that’s most likely just a scale difference.  But, whatever, I’ll take it!  🙂  Now that I have the 510W scale I will be using that for every weigh-in, so that will eliminate the different scale variable.

I also got my cool new Omron pedometer and started wearing that last week.  I was completely shocked to see how many steps I take.  I thought I took a lot more.  Working, running errands, cleaning the house and running after kids all day….feels like I am walking a lot more than I actually am.  Geez.  That was an eye opener.  Who knew that wearing a little pedometer could help me that much.  (Well, I guess Omron knew!  haha)  The goal is 10,000 steps per day and I was shocked that I only take about 4,000 to 5,000 on days that I do not exercise!  WOW!  That’s how important exercise is going to be for me, I won’t be able to get in 10,000 steps per day with out it.  I did figure out that a trip to the grocery and unloading said groceries was about 2,200 steps!  haha.  Good to know.  🙂

Week 1 – Gross.  Avert your eyes.  🙂
