Omron Challenge – Week 4

February 4, 2013 by Erin 4 Comments

treadmill

This morning marks the first day of week four of the Omron Fitness Challenge with Mamavation!  WoWzA.  Time flies.  So this past week was all about cardio for me.  (That’s why I took a picture of my shoes on the treadmill, I feel like I was there aaallll week!)  I’ve already been getting my 10,000 daily steps in throughout the challenge, but I think I wasn’t doing most of them at a high enough exercise level.  Who knew?  We got our new heart rate monitors in the mail and it was very interesting to see how just knowing my target heart rate (and when I was in it) changed my workouts.  It’s a cute little machine, it has no chest straps, I wear it on my wrist just like a watch.  (And it tells time like a watch too!  A very smart watch.)  Clever.  It really helps me a lot because it shows me right when I’m in the correct heart rate zone to make sure my cardio workout is actually WORKING!  Apparently I was NOT working out optimally.  But, now I know, and knowing is half the battle.  😉  I have lost 8.2 since week one, and 2.2 this past week.  10.8 (which I am definatly calling 11) since the application!  WHOO.  So, that’s good.

I took my measurements again this morning, officially 4 weeks since the first time I did them.  Would you like to know the results so far?  Welllll, OK, if you insist.

I am down…..3 inches on the chest, 3 inches on the hips, 4 inches on thighs, 2 inches on calves, 1 inch on each arm and 1/2 an inch on my waist.  STUPID WAIST!  What gives?  Here are my before and after pictures.  (I wore the exact same clothes each time and stood in front of the same door on purpose.)  The shirt looks longer in week 4, I guess since it has less to cover up now!

I feel like I can kinda tell a little bit by looking at the pictures……but I am still very mad at my waist, but very happy with my thighs (good work, thighs, keep it up …and hey waist….get in the game – 1/2 an inch, really?  GEEZ!).   🙂

You look great!! Keep up the good work!

I have started looking at treadmills. I don’t REALLY have space for one, but pretty soon it’ll be too warm to walk outside.
