The photo challenge this week was “something that makes me smile”. This is pretty easy because so many things make me smile. But also hard, because I couldn’t decide what photo to choose. I decided to go with the kids.
These pictures make me smile on many levels.
My kids. Clean and fresh right out of the bath. In jammies. Getting along. Reading books. Almost bed time (aka mama time).
I just wish I knew how to take low light pictures that weren’t so blurry. I’m not sure how to take this picture so that it looks better. Anyone? Maybe I should have gotten closer? I think I captured what makes me smile – but not in the prettiest way.
This last one cracks me up. They were done with me taking pictures so they hid behind Sam’s bed to read. Stinkers.

What a couple of cute little ones. Awesome job on catching the smiles.

I love them hiding! So cute!!
Great photos! They are too cute!
Cute kiddos! Thanks for stopping by my blog!
You’ve got some super cute kids ๐ I hate the “Blurries” as I call them. ITs usually caused by the lack of light. What kind of camera do you have? If its a DSLR you can adjust your ISO, Manuel lighting and zoom out. IF you have a point and shoot digital, it depends on your camera, but most of the time you can still adjust you ISO ( the higher the ISO the more light your camera allows in) and zooming out will help. Hope that helps ๐
PS. I’m following your blog now ๐
Good advice from Jennifer above, I would have suggested messing with the ISO too & open up your aperture. Your kids are precious!! I love them they were “over” the photo shoot & decided to do something about it. Thanks for linking up!
So adorable. the hiding one is just too cute!
I love this challenge, I just picked up another great tip from your reader Jennifer!
Thanks!

Fun photos! Totally understand what you mean about “getting along” and “aka mommy time”! ๐ Hard to come by sometimes…! ๐
Those kids are funny!! ANd super cute. Love them. ๐
Such a fun picture! They look so cute. I like the hiding one too. Thanks for your sweet comment!
Great picture, Erin. I love how you’ve captured a bit of your kids personalities at this stage of life in this series of photos. It’s the great thing about photographing our kids … typically what we set out to photograph isn’t always what we end up with.
