I saw this post at New Nostalgia and knew I had to try it immediately. I love everything Amy does over there and I knew this would be no different! Head on over to New Nostalgia for all the wonderful health benefits of green tea. It’s really GOOD STUFF! She put all kinds of facts in her post and a wonderful tutorial with pictures!
So…. I’m an iced tea ADDICT. Seriously. I have a problem. It’s a good thing McDonald’s tea is only 1 dollar because I have one every few days day. Large. Un-sweet. No ice. (that way you get more tea!) I sometimes make my own, but it’s just not as good. This version sounded lovely and Dr. Oz (where Amy got the recipe) says it’s good for weight loss! Bonus. I know green tea is way better for you than black tea and I thought it would be a good change for the summer. ๐ It is! Plus I had a huge bunch of mint from our CSA box last week and now it’s put to good use. Really good use. I’m drinking some right now!
ICED TANGERINE MINT GREEN TEA.
organic green tea (prepared by instructions on the side of the box)
organic oranges (I didn’t have tangerines)
fresh mint leaves (I used a few large handfuls)
honey to taste (I just used a bit since I really like it unsweetened)
just boiling water
ice
Brew the green tea according to the instructions. Add a little honey after steeping. Rinse mint leaves and muddle them up a bit in the bottom of the pitcher. Slice an orange or two and put them in the pitcher. Add ice. Pour your honey and steeped tea over it. Enjoy. It’s so refreshing. Good bye McDonald’s.
- Dr. Oz’s Tangerine Weight-Orade Recipe
- For a powerful metabolism-boosting drink, try Dr. Ozโs Tangerine Weight-Orade. It contains: green tea, shown to boost metabolism 12% by drinking just one cup; tangerine, with a chemical composition that increases sensitivity to insulin and stimulates genes that help to burn fat; and mint, a calorie-free flavor enhancer.
- In a large pitcher, combine:
- 8 cups of brewed green tea
- 1 tangerine, sliced
- A handful of mint leaves
- Stir this delicious concoction up at night so all the flavors fuse together. Drink 1 pitcher daily for maximum metabolism-boosting results.

You should try it!
thanks for the shout out, Erin. I love everything you do here, too. So much in common, huh? Love the little finger in the last photo:)

Thanks for sharing this! I am drowning in mint and am always looking for ways to use it! I too LOVE iced tea (well, all tea!) but especially on a hot summer night, sitting out in my gazebo — it’s my favorite way to end the day!
Why am I so NOT surprised that you made this?? I have been researching to find a new tea to make for the summer! I just hadn’t gotten around to making it yet!! ๐ You are SOOO my bestie! ๐
