The day after Sam’s train party, we decided to give the Lebanon Mason Monroe Railroad a try. Kevin’s parents were still in town and we thought it would be a fun activity for a train birthday weekend! I’ve heard about it but had never been there. The LM&M is in Historic Downtown Lebanon. It’s a really quaint downtown. I’d like to go back and shop! The LM&M is one of the oldest locomotives still operating and the open window commuter coaches that you ride in are from the 30’s. It was really fun. The kids L.O.V.E.D. it! Especially the bean. He said “Choo Choo” about a million times. You can see him saying it in just about every picture! Funny.
I love the look of amazement on Sam’s face!! To be so close to a CHOO CHOO!
“Choo Choo“
Pure joy – he’s so happy!
“Choo Choo“
“Choo Choo“
The train started moving! What?!?
“Choo Choo“
So pleased!
The day we went it was the “Curious George Excursion.” So, during the ride ‘the man in the yellow hat’ (it was a lady) came around and made balloon animals for the kids. And at the layover we got to meet Curious George. And the conductor read the kids Curious George books. And they did Curious George related crafts. It was really cute.
Neither of the kids liked Curious George. Lucie was disappointed because she thought he was going to be a real monkey. 🙂 Sam HATED him. It could be because you had to first wait in a long corral line in a tent before you get ushered into a small, strange, dark room in a shed where he’s just sitting there waiting for you to sit on his lap. Strange. Just about every kid cried. haha.

But this guy was nice! They should have put him in the dark room and put George outside.
Cute! I’ve wanted to do something like this for our boys!
