Oh Family Fun….how I love you and the clever ideas you bring to my mailbox every month. ๐
The bird and I made these really cute and very tasty heart pops for her preschool Valentine’s party. They turned out so cute. And a little Ghiradelli makes everything taste good!
Luckily I scored the last two boxes of mini-candy canes after Christmas!
You need:

Arrange the unwrapped candy canes in heart shapes around the stick. (on parchment paper) The bird took this part very seriously. She did a great job!
Spoon melted white (or dark) chocolate into the heart (I did this part). I melted mine in the microwave with the instructions on the package of chocolate chips.
Sprinkle with cute festive sprinkles. Lucie thoroughly enjoyed this job!
Let harden, possible overnight in a room temperature spot.
* Note – if you put them in the freezer or refrigerator or somewhere cold (garage) to speed up this process……then the candy canes will possibly sweat. And that does not make for a pretty pop. ๐
The Family Fun instructions said to melt the candy canes in the oven and then pinch the canes around the stick. I did this with one batch and found it to be an unnecessary step. They stay together just fine with the only chocolate holding them together. I think they would even be pretty with milk chocolate. I love the mint and chocolate combination. YUM!
I will have to keep those in mind for next year. They are so cute.
Thanks. ๐ Remember to save some tiny candy canes.
Yummy! I want one right now!
How cute!
