My parents had an old, un-safe, most likely recalled crib at their house for when the grand babies slept over. Isn’t that sweet.
The slats were dangerously far apart and every one of the grand kids had their arm or leg painfully stuck through them at one time or another. It had a drop sides, one of which would no longer stay up, permanently dropped. It wobbled and teetered and moved whenever the kids rolled around or breathed. It was basically a death trap.
My sister and I made fun of it, so, my mom got rid of it. She wanted to burn it, actually. hahaha.
But, being the hoarder that I am, couldn’t just let her toss it. 🙂 I salvaged the sides. The perfect, slats-too-far-apart, broken-drop-sides.
And I made a trellis for my garden.
In about 5 minutes.
With only zip ties.
My cucumbers, squash and beans are so happy now.
You can make your own in no time.
There are always old cribs at yard sales and on Freecycle and Craigslist. You might even have one in your very own basement!! Or maybe your mom is holding on to a death trap for her sweet grand babies, too!
Just think how happy your green beans will be.
interesting thanks for your post
