Create a Backyard Oasis with Tiki

May 17, 2013 by Erin Leave a Comment

We just built a new deck.  Our old one was falling off of the house.  For real.  My parents came over for dinner a few months ago and my dad (who’s very handy and builds houses and things) took one step out there and declared that his grand babies were not allowed to step foot out there again!  YAY!  New deck for me because the old one was terribly unsafe!  haha.  Score….kind of.

So, we saved our pennies and got to it and now we have a lovely new deck.  And it’s composite!  (fancy schmancy – i know!!)  (Dad knows a guy.)  We just can’t wait to spend some time out there, grilling and playing and entertaining.  It’s going to be so much fun!

But even if we didn’t have a new deck to enjoy, we would still be outside.  Last summer our living room and kitchen sat empty almost every night because we loved to relax and eat out there on that scary, wobbly, unsafe deck!  In our backyard is where we spend most of our days…..Chillin’ out, maxin’, relaxin’ all cool!  (name that tune)  bhahaha

You don’t need a new deck….even small updates can turn your outdoor space into an inviting room.  Just add some seating or an outdoor rug, a little table and you can easily create an inviting atmosphere for your family.  It’s so easy to create ambiance with the soft glow of a solar light, too.  Add a TIKI Brand Flame & Solar Torch, TIKI Brand Glowing Torch or a TIKI Brand Glowing Table Torch!  The whole Glowing Torch line is so warm and inviting.

Check out my video.  How cool does the TIKI Brand Glowing Table Torch at night?  It really looks great day or night.  Made from handcrafted glass, it has three settings.  One is no light, one is a soft white light and one is a mulit-color LED setting.  Of course my kids think the color changing one is AWESOME!  We love it!  The color changing LED lights transform our backyard into the best room of the house!

Having the LED feature on both torches is so smart because sometimes you don’t want an open flame (around little kids or pets) but you still want a nice soft glow while you enjoy the backyard.   The 2 in 1 Flame & Solar Torch turns on automatically at night and one full charge lasts 8 hours.  You can light a natural flame or use the flickering solar LED which looks like a natural flame!

Another great part of these torches, is that we can fill them with OFF!® BiteFIghter® Torch Fuel so we can repel those pesky mosquitos at the same time!

Both products are available at Target, Wal-Mart and at tikibrand.com
