Back to School Lists

Are you a list maker?  I make a lot of lists.  A.LOT.OF.LISTS.  It’s pretty much the first thing I do every morning.  I have a cup of coffee and make a list of things I have to do that day.  And another list of things I have to do that week.  And probably another one I have to do that month.  I also have separate lists for different things.  A regular to do list.  A blog to do list.  A kids to do list.  A places to go or errands to run list.  A things to buy list.  A grocery list (No, That is not the same as “things to buy” since I don’t buy everything at the grocery store! Separate list.)  Then when I have crossed off most things from any one of those lists, I transfer the remaining to a new list!  AHH!  I sound so crazy.

I’ve tried to do this all on my phone.  I know there are amazing apps for this sort of thing.  But there is just something about putting pen to paper that I love.  Crossing things off that I’ve finished feels much better to me than clicking a little box.  🙂  (And yes, I have been known to put something on my lists that I just finished just so that I can cross it off!  It feels so good!)

My husband will sometimes find one of my lists laying around and write a new line item.  Always a joke and usually stupid.  “buy Kevin a present”  or “take Kevin golfing” are favorites.  And he thinks it’s hilarious to write “make a list” on my list.  Funny guy!  🙂

And then there is the calendar. I’m very particular about my calendars!  I know lots of people successfully use their phone or computer or e-mail for calendars.  But, I just LOVE seeing it on paper.  I like use a different color to represent each member of the family or each type of activity.  I don’t like weekly calendars, only monthly!  (see, I told you I was particular!)

And now that school is starting and I am giving this whole homeschooling a whirl for the first time, I am finding more and more stuff that I need to write down and keep track of.  Lesson plans, play dates, art classes, music classes, gymnastics, piano, co-op meetings, pre-school days, Kevin’s off days and ‘on call’ days.

I’m really loving these BIC Atlantis® Pens for all of my list making and calendar tracking and lesson planning!  (I use a different color for each subject!)  They’re so smooth to write with!  I love the colors and they don’t bleed or skip.  The smoothness of the ink is awesome.  Seriously, dependably smooth!  I didn’t even know that was something I needed in a pen until I used these!  I really don’t need my thoughts interrupted by anything else!    Thanks BIC Back-to-School for making a pen that let’s me stay in my list making groove!

Who else is a list maker??  Let’s make a list!!!
