Disney’s The Little Mermaid at Cincy Broadway

Make sure to catch The Little Mermaid as it’s national tour makes a stop in Cincinnati!  (See what I did there?)  Based on the Disney animated film and hit Broadway musical, The Little Mermaid is making its Cincinnati debut this month.  And. It. Is. Amazing!

The girls and I had a great time at the show. The photo booth at Cincy Broadway is always fun!

Do not miss The Little Mermaid!!  Seriously.  If you can get there, do it!  Gorgeous costumes, breathtaking special effects and spectacular music. We really felt like we were “Under The Sea”.  The special effects were just out of this world.  The mermaids are always moving and you really get the feeling that they’re actually swimming around the stage.

Headstrong Ariel is no longer content to live on the ocean floor under her father, King Triton’s rule. Convinced she’ll only find happiness on land, she sets off to find a world where she belongs, battling a cruel sea witch and finding true love along the way.”

The kids’ favorite character was Sebastian the crab, for sure.  He was great.  He cracked them up when he would walk sideways off of the stage.  They would giggle every time he came on.  And his voice and accent were spot on.

Scuttle was one of my favorites in the Disney movie and he didn’t disappoint on stage.  He was hilarious and he sounded just like the Scuttle from the movie.  His tap dancing number was flawless.

Ursula, played by Jennifer was absolutely sensational!  Perfectly wicked and funny.  She was one of my favorites to watch.  And her eel sidekicks were awesome as they skated along on their heelys, (which my daughter decided we should call eelys.)  They had such creepy, fluid, eel-like movement.

The show features all of the favorites like “Under The Sea” and “Part of Your World” as well as new songs written by Oscar-winning Disney composer Alan Menken, the mastermind behind productions such as Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin and Pocahontas.

It was the perfect fancy night out with the little girls.  If you are a Disney fan, you can’t miss this show.
