We are so lucky to have such an amazing aquarium close to us. We just love visiting the Newport Aquarium. There is always something new to see or experience, like the awesome Shark Bridge!
And this past week we got to see MERMAIDS! I was probably even more excited than the kids! I mean, REAL. LIVE. MERMAIDS!

Well, now you have your chance, because the World Famous Weeki Wachee Mermaids will be at Newport Aquarium from September 25 -October 12.
For a limited time, discover the magic of the world famous Weeki Wachee Mermaids when they splash into Newport Aquarium.”
You will be able to view a “real-life” mermaid, clad in a colorful fish-tailed costume, swimming underwater from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. each day. The mermaids will dive in the aquarium’s 60,000-gallon Coral Reef exhibit that features nearly 200 aquatic animals and more than 50 species of fish.
Plus, meet a mermaid up-close and out of the water during one of the daily meet and greet times.
Times: 11am to 1pm and 2pm to 4pm each day.
And it’s all free with your admission ticket or a Newport Aquarium Annual Pass.
Weeki Wachee Springs is located in sunny Florida and The World Famous mermaids of Weeki Wachee Springs State Park have been a commercial success since the small-town park opened in 1947. For almost 60 years, the fun, family-oriented park has lured in visitors with beautiful mermaids who swim in the cool, clear spring waters.
