Have you been to see Wicked? You seriously must go. It’s my absolute favorite Broadway show of all time. The phenomenal acting and the spectacular songs and the fascinating story. I can’t just get enough. And I’m not even a HUGE Wizard of Oz fan. You don’t have to be. It’s that good! My mom went and she had never even seen The Wizard of Oz (so weird) and she instantly fell in love with Wicked. It’s hilarious and sweet. It’s touching and has deep lessons about friendship.
Wicked is only in Cincinnati until Oct 15th…so get your tickets now! Click here for tickets!
“Based on the best-selling 1995 novel by Gregory Maguire, WICKED, winner of 50 major awards, including a Grammy® and three Tony Awards, is the untold story of the witches of Oz. It is produced by Marc Platt, Universal Pictures, The Araca Group, Jon B. Platt and David Stone.
The Broadway sensation, WICKED, looks at what happened in the Land of Oz…but from a different angle. Long before Dorothy arrives, there is another young woman, born with emerald-green skin, who is smart, fiery, misunderstood, and possessing an extraordinary talent. When she meets a bubbly blonde who is exceptionally popular, their initial rivalry turns into the unlikeliest of friendships…until the world decides to call one “good,” and the other one “wicked.”With a thrilling score that includes the hits “Defying Gravity,” “Popular” and “For Good,” WICKED has been hailed by The New York Times as “the defining musical of the decade,” and by Time Magazine as “a magical Broadway musical with brains, heart, and courage.”
Wicked is one of Broadway’s most popular musicals. And for good reason. It’s spectacular. It tells the backstory behind the Wizard of Oz’s Glinda the good, and Elphaba, the green girl that becomes the Wicked Witch of the West. The cast is amazing, and Gina Claire Mason who played Glinda was spectacular. The whole cast was exceptionally talented, one of the best I have ever seen.
Wicked is a family friendly muscical and it certainly entertains all ages.
Wicked teaches the audience valuable lessons from the retelling of a classic story. Elphaba is an example of bravery compassion and confidence which are three important characteristics to promote and role model.
The giant metal dragon looming over the top of the stage sets the mood as soon as you enter the theater.
Wicked‘s popularity is due to an excellent presentation, unprecedented talent and the inspirational message that it brings.
Don’t wait to get your tickets to see it, shows often sell out!
