We love pizza night. Seriously. We eat pizza a lot. 🙂 Sometimes we order it in. Sometimes we make it ourselves with dough that I buy from here. Usually I make it with this dough recipe, because it makes the most perfect pizza crust ever. (for real.)
I recently was asked to review this Emile Henry baking stone.
For five generations, Emile Henry has been making bakeware, cookware and tableware in Marcigny, France. All Emile Henry pieces are carefully hand-crafted from mineral-rich Burgundy clay (which is found naturally in the region.) The clay is then combined with 100-percent natural ingredients to create Flame Top, an innovative line of ceramic cookware that is lightweight and versatile. It is unsurpassed for even heat distribution.
So, it seemed perfect to try this baby out on pizza night. I really wanted to try it out on the grill, but it was pouring down rain, so we stuck it in the oven. 🙂 Next time….we grill the pizza. YUM!
You can put this ceramic-covered baking stone in the dishwasher, in the oven, on the grill, in the freezer and even in the microwave! WHAT?! It can go from 0-500 degrees! I love that you can cut directly on the stone without damaging or scratching the surface! Bonus. No more extra dishes. It’s super easy to clean with soap and water but I throw it in the dishwasher.
And again….it’s from France! (Fancy-shmancy, I know!) (Now I just need to see if Le Creuset wants me to review anything!!) 😉 😉
This stone is made of all natural materials and the glaze on it is micro-crazed, which contributes to crispy, well-baked dishes. It’s true. It really did bake the crust perfectly. Just perfect. Crispy and chewy at the same time. I love pizza.
(Except that there’s a strange, creepy face in my perfectly baked crust. Do you see it? It’s staring at you!)
I don’t think the face has anything to do with the pizza stone, though! haha
I was given a complimentary baking stone for review purposes. All opinions are 100 percent mine and the crust face is really looking at you!
