striped wreath

January 17, 2012 by Erin 6 Comments

I really like the look of the yarn wreaths, and I’ve made a few…..but I also LOVE stripes.  So, I wondered what would happen if I made a wreath with striped ribbon instead of yarn.
This is what would happen!
I love it.  I made this one for my mother-in-law, so now I need to go back to the Hob Lob and get more supplies to make my own!  🙂

What you need:
wreath form
a few spools of ribbon (I needed three for mine)
hot glue
felt or flowers
What you do:

I used a straw wreath and left the plastic on.  I like that the wreaths end up looking thicker when I use a straw form than when I use foam wreath forms.
I wrapped it with two inch ribbon – which took only about 10 minutes as opposed to the hours and hours of yarn wrapping!!!  Hooray!
I hot glued the ends of the ribbon to the wreath as each spool was used up.
Easy peasy.
I cut circles out of some felt and made the flowers.  There are all kind of cute ways to make felt flowers.  For this one I tried a couple out.  I added a little bling to a few.
Done and done.

Thanks guys! It was so easy. You can do it! Or maybe I will get my etsy shop actually up and running one of these days. 🙂
