Fun wreaths seem to be everywhere I look these days. I do love my yarn wreath and I’m itching to make another one of those soon. After the Christmas wreath came down, I was searching for something festive to take it’s place and decided I would try my hand at a Valentine’s Day one. So, I headed to my friendly neighborhood dollar store to see about getting some supplies.
I bought three bags of conversation hearts, one spool of Valentine ribbon and a styrofoam wreath form. I already had the hot glue and the ribbon that I used to wrap the wreath before any hot gluing took place. So, this little lovely only cost 4 dollars! 🙂
The first thing I did was use some old ribbon that I had in my stash to wrap the form. This is so the hot glue doesn’t melt the styrofoam and so that the ugly green styrofoam doesn’t show through the spaces between the candy.
Next – I just stared putting the candy on with hot glue. They kind of ended up in rows.
It was a fun little project. It took about 30 minutes from start to finish and I like the way it turned out. I think I want to spray it with something shiny and protective. I will have to put that on my list.
I even had enough candy hearts left over to make a candle feel more festive.
