It’s no secret that I love IKEA. It’s my happy place. The mother ship.
I could spend hours just wandering around. Getting ideas. Looking at pretty things. I enjoy looking at all the clever room set ups in the Showroom. The children’s space. Ah. I want it all. So clean and colorful. It’s a good thing for my wallet that Ikea West Chester about 45 minutes away from my house. 🙂
So, I was excited to be invited to a blogger event there last week to preview the new catalog and eat some amazing food. It’s not just about Swedish fish!
Seriously. The food!
They had Crayfish for us to try. (It was my first time.) And it was good. Like a little baby lobster! Did you know they have a GIANT grayish party every year in Sweden! This was news to me. And of course, IKEA gets in on the fun, too. They have their crayfish party this year on September 16 at 5:00. All you can eat! So FUN!
We tried elevated Swedish meatballs, three ways. So tasty.
Smoked salmon, of course!
A lovely avocado salad.
And fun sparkling drinks!!
You can get everything you need to make these dishes right in their Swedish food market!
And like I needed another reason to adore the place. But, now I have one. The staff!! They were all so fun and friendly and sweet. They had set up all kinds of cool stations to introduce us to the new items.
Fist of all, they have a GIFT REGISTRY! WHAT!? Sorry for yelling, but this changes everything. Can you imagine registering for your wedding or baby shower at IKEA?! LOVE IT.
The kids table was so cute. My kids would have loved everything about it.
The tablescapes were all so perfect, it was hard to choose my favorite. There really is something for every style!
The whole new catalog is about inspiring individuality. Mixing colors, shapes and textures to make your house your own and really find your own decorating style. If you think of gummy fish, frozen meatballs and putting together modern furniture with a tiny tool when you think of IKEA, I would recommend giving them another try. They have something for everyone.
Get your new catalog and have a ball shopping! I know I did.
