Do you like to eat? Do you like to try new places? Do you like Italian food? Do you like to win gift cards? Me too. (I can’t really pass up pasta and cheese. Those genius Italians.)
I got to check out a new restaurant recently called Bravo Cucina Italiana. Fun name! Great place. It was some of the best service I’ve ever had. Our server was so attentive and really knowledgable and super sweet.
The all new Bravo! Cucina Italiana is now open in Rookwood! BRAVO! Cucina Italiana is a “polished casual” restaurant offering classic Italian food amongst the shadows of Roman ruins.
I am digging the term “polished casual” and it describes the place perfectly. It was a really nice atmosphere. Kind of fancy, but also laid back at the same time. “Polished Casual”. Love that.
The subtitle “Cucina Italiana” means Italian kitchen, in which all cooking is done in full view of the guest, creating the energy of a live theater. BRAVO’s popular entrees include grilled steaks, chops and fresh seafood, as well as flatbreads, pizzas and salads, similar to what one would find in an authentic “ristorante” in Italy.
They also have a “Lighter Side of Rome” menu which offers items that are 595 calories or less.
They have a nice brunch on Saturdays and Sundays from 11-3. And Bar Bites Monday – Friday from 3:30 – 6:30 starting at just $3.95. They also have a gluten-free menu, a kids menu and family style pans to go.
We started with the Calamari. Really good stuff. (Honestly, though, you could pretty much deep fry anything and I would like it. I’m predictable that way.) The dipping sauces were fab.
Next, I had the Shaved Brussels Candied Almond Salad. It was even better than it sounds. It had a lemony dressing. Oh man. I wish I were eating this right now.
I had the Chicken Scaloppini. Sautéed chicken, roasted Portobello mushrooms, Provolone, lemon caper butter sauce, Feta, tomatoes, herb linguine. YUM! It was so good and even great the next day for lunch.
And my husband went with Grilled Chicken Marsala with mushroom Marsala wine sauce, Tuscan mashed potatoes, seasonal vegetables. He didn’t have any leftover for his lunch.
The house-made lemonade was delicious. Look at the sugared rim!
And the desserts all looked amazing. How to even decide?
We had the Carnegie Deli Cheesecake. A New York style cheesecake, caramelized sugar crust, vanilla bean anglaise. AMAZING. The sugar crust was so good.
Look at the cool wood fired pizza grill. I think I need to try the pizza next time.
