Looking for a creative way to document your child’s firs year of life? These onesies make excellent first year photo prop. They are also fairly simple to make and super fun to try out!
The basic idea is that you have four onesies and twelve numbers. The onesies have velcro and so do the numbers. Choose the onesies that fits and the number of the correct month and take a photo each month of your child’s first year of life. You don’ t have to worry about which onesies will fit each month, because they are all interchangeable!
Want to make your own set? These make a GREAT baby shower gifts! You will need four onesies, size 0-3,3-6,6-9 and 12 months. I buy white ones and dye them with Rit Dye
. You can buy color ones if too. You will need 1/4 yd. of the felt for the circles {green in my project} and scraps for the numbers {Dk blue in my projects}. You will also need embroidery thread in a contrasting color.
I use a bowl to trace and cut out the circles. Then I free hand the numbers. You could also print off a thick font and cut the numbers from that.
I’m going to show you how I sew the numbers on so that the back looks nice. {note: you could also just hot glue the felt numbers to the felt circles if you don’t want to sew}. Knot the thread and stick start sewing from the back of the number.
Now place the number on the circle and go back down through the number and the circle. {the knot is hidden}
Continue sewing down the center of the numbers.
The back should look fairly neat…
When you get to the end, slip a knot in-between the number and the circle. So once again the knot is hidden.

Cut 1″ velcro into squares. You will need 4 of one side of the velco and 12 of the other side.
I just hot glue the velcro to the circles and the onesies.
Place the velcro in the center of the onesies towards the top. Now any number can stick to any of the onesies and you are ready to take photos for each month in your little ones first year of life.
