I love key lime pie. LOVE IT! My favorite pie – hands down. And, I like margaritas. So, yesterday when I saw this post at Rook No. 17, I knew what Kevin and I would have to drink for Cinco de Mayo. 🙂
Key Lime Pie Margarita
2 oz. tequila
2 oz. key lime juice (fresh or bottled)
2 oz. Rose’s Sweetened Lime Juice
2 oz. sweetened condensed milk
1 graham cracker
1 Tbs sugar
Crush graham cracker and blend with sugar. Run a slice of lime around your glass and then dip the rim into the graham/sugar crumb mixture. Set rimmed glass aside.
Put all ingredients into a cocktail shaker with some ice (I used a tupperware and a colander – use what you got) and shake until blended. Or throw it all in a blender if you like blended drinks.
Place a few fresh ice cubes into the rimmed glass and strain the blended cocktail into your glass. Garnish with slice of key lime.
Makes one margarita. You better double it! 🙂
I LOVED it. It’s perfectly tart and sweet and creamy. YUM. Kevin thought it was almost too tart. (I don’t think there is such a thing) But, my key limes might have been slightly under-ripe. I’ll try it again, maybe with bottled key lime juice. I thought it was perfect.

It makes me giddy with glee to know that you enjoyed the margarita as much as I did! Sharing ideas across many miles is one of the things I like best about blogging!
Ole!
