watermelon waffles

July 20, 2011 by Erin 4 Comments

Here’s an easy and fun breakfast idea. Perfect for summer.
Watermelon Waffles

You need:
Round waffle iron
pancake mix
food coloring
chocolate chips
hungry kids (optional)

You do:
Prepare the mix and divide it into two bowls.
Make one bowl red (or pink) and one bowl green.
Your red bowl needs to have slightly more batter.

Pour your green batter around the edges of the waffle iron and the pink in the middle.
Sprinkle chocolate chips in the pink and shut the iron.

Wait patiently for the light to turn green.

Gobble them up.

The bird thought it was going to taste like a watermelon too.
Haha. But, she liked it anyway.
