The Kenton County Library is one of my all time favorite places around here. It’s my go to for fun and interesting classes for the kids and myself. We’ve taken all kinds of amazing classes there, from Yoga to Hands-on-Science and from story time to Study the Masters art classes. It really is an amazing place. And it just got even more amazing.
They’ve recently opened up a brand-spanking-new, community, public MAKERSPACE. The STREAM Center of Learning, which stands for Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Arts and Math.
The Stream Center is located at the Erlanger Branch of the Kenton County Library at 401 Kenton Lands Road.
It is simply spectacular. And it is filled to the brim with STREAM-y goodness.
It has many different kinds of tools and equipment. Amazing things like ….3-D Printers, 3-D pens, ozbots, soldering irons, button makers, keyboards, coding robots, sewing machines, an embroidery machine, a poster printer, a silhouette cameo, a large vinyl cutter, looms, Raspberry Pi and Arduinos, a dremel tool, welders, screen printers and so much more.
It’s open during library hours with friendly and knowledgeable staff there to help out. It is also available for classes and one-on-one sessions, call to book one. Everything is free to use, but there are nominal materials fees to replace some consumable items, like thread, vinyl and paper. And it is really nominal. Like sometimes as low as a few cents.
The STREAM Center is open to all ages, but children 12 and under need to be accompanied by an adult. The FREE programs on how to use all of the equipments started this week. See the library calendar of events for a complete list.
Crafters, innovators, creators and dreamers will now have the opportunity to make their visions become a reality at the STREAM Center.
Get there and INNOVATE, CREATE and MAKE something for yourself.
