Curious World

I so enjoy learning about new apps and educational activities for my iPad.  There are just so many options, it’s hard to know which are worth it.  I often take advice from friends about which apps are good.  I read reviews and I do a little research, too.  Because my kids LOVE. LOVE. LOVE. when I let them play with my iPhone or iPad.  It’s like a special treat for them and myself when I need to get something done, or need a minute to myself!  And I LOVE. LOVE. LOVE. knowing that the games I have on my devices are fun and educational.  They play Minecraft and other games, of course.  But, if I can get some learning in there while they’re playing, that is a huge bonus for this homeschooling mamma.

I was recently asked to take a look at an app developed by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt called Curious World.  I can easily say that it is a hit with the kids and with me.

It’s important to me to make sure the kids are playing learning games from time to time and not just video games. This app has so many great aspects.  My kids adore the story books section.  They can choose to read it to themselves or have it read to them as it highlights the words. Perfect.

The games are great too.  My son’s favorites are the bubble games where he has to choose the correct bubble to pop, based on different consonant blends.  LEARNING!

A subscription to Curious World gets me unlimited access to a full library of books, games and videos based on eight key learning areas.  From Language and Math to Science and Creative Expression.   SOOO many choices.  I also get personalized content recommendations!  I can control and track it all in the parent dashboard.

I can see how many minutes they have played and what they have played at a glance.

Don’t take my word for it.  Check it out first.  You can sign up for a free trial on the Curious World website and receive 30 days of unlimited access to the Curious World premium subscriber experience.

You can download it in the App Store today! One of my favorite parts is that Curious World is a 100% advertising-free experience. It’s a closed environment that can be fully enjoyed within a self-contained app on your iOS device, without any need for children to access the web.

Curious World is a great subscription-based app that delivers.  Its activities are tailored to children ages 3 – 7. It keeps my kids’ attentions very well, and I feel great about letting them play.  They love it. I love it.
