I finally got to make this ice cream. It’s creamy and fantastic.
I will start by saying that I don’t like bananas. I really try to like them, but it’s no use. I don’t even like the way they smell. The only way you will see me eat a banana is when they are green, really green. Almost too green for human consumption. Then I’ll have one. 🙂
But, my kids and husband could live on bananas, so they’re definitely a staple in the house. But, there’s always that sad last one left at the end of the week that’s just too brown to eat. I always just peel it and throw that bad boy in the freezer for smoothies. But, the last few weeks, I remembered that I wanted to try this recipe, so I chopped them up before throwing them in the freezer.
Last week, I finally had four chopped, frozen bananas! Time to break out the food processor.
Make your own……
1 (or 2 or 3) Ingredient Ice Cream.
Peel bananas.
Slice bananas.
Freeze bananas.
(The original site says to freeze for only a few hours, but mine were in there for way longer…notice the ice crystals….and it still worked. I did add just a dash of almond milk to get the ball rolling.)
Throw them in the food processor and blend.
Scrape down the sides and keep blending.
Add some more ingredients if you want.
(I added cocoa powder and peanut butter powder)
(I happened to have PB2, but regular peanut butter would work too)
Blend some more until creamy.
Eat it up.
I figured that since it had banana split ingredients, I would add a cherry (or two)!
🙂
The kids and Kevin LOVED it! Being the banana hater that I am, I didn’t really want any, but I thought I needed to at least try it. It was really quite good. It’s not too sweet. It does taste like bananas, but also chocolate and peanut butter! 🙂
Try it – you’ll like it!
Looks pretty spectacular to me! And obviously someone else is enjoying it a lot. 🙂
I’ve done something similar, but use different flavored yogurts with the frozen bananas. Gives it more of a creamy texture like ice cream.
Yummers! I’m definitely going to try this! I run into the same dilemma with the spotted brown nanners. Perfect solution!
This sounds rally delicious andy our model could sell me anything :-). This is my first visit to your site, so I took some time to browse through your earlier posts. I’m so glad I did that. I really like the food and recipes you share with your readers and I’ll definitely be back. I hope you have a great day. Blessings…Mary
Where do you get the PB2 powder?
