two easy father’s day ideas

June 15, 2011 by Erin 4 Comments

Idea #1
A WEEKS WORTH OF DECORATED LUNCH BAGS!

The Mother Huddle had this adorable idea posted the other day.  I thought it was FABULOUS.  Something that was inexpensive, but very cute and meaningful.  And I already had all that we needed to make them!  Kevin takes his lunch to work everyday so this is perfect.  I can imagine him taking his meal out of these lovely hand decorated bags.  The kids took it very seriously!   “It’s for daddy’s lunch!”  🙂

Idea #2
A TIN FILLED WITH VINTAGE CANDY AND POP (with super cool labels)

This wonderful idea and awesome free printable comes from Delightfully Noted.   I loved it from the moment I saw it.  Her custom retro pop labels are SO cute!  I just printed them, cut them out and used a glue stick to put them over the real label!  I threw some ‘dad’ related candy in there too!  Pop Rocks, Sugar Daddy’s and Tootsie pops!  And a Dad’s Root Beer.  Clever and cute.  Thanks Jennifer!

Soooo easy and not too spendy.  I went to Cracker Barrel and got Kevin’s favorite vintage pop.  Cracker Barrel also has the Sugar Daddy’s.  I got the Tootsie Pops and Pop Rocks and Dad’s Root Beer at Walgreens.  I bought the tin at Hobby Lobby for a couple of bucks.
