rainy zoo

June 16, 2011 by Erin 1 Comment

We made a quick trip to the zoo yesterday. I checked out the weather before we left. It said “chance of scattered showers.” Ha.

It was sunny as we drove to the zoo. It was windy as we parked. It was cloudy as we checked out new baby giraffe. It was sprinkling as we followed a peacock around and shared graham crackers with him. And then. Torrential downpour. So, we stashed the stroller behind a bush and hopped on the tram. We rode it for about an hour. Four times around the zoo. It was pretty fun actually. People got on and off and sprinted to their cars, and we just stayed put. We saw all the bears and a rhino and some monkeys. More animals than we saw before the rain. 🙂 Thank goodness for zoo memberships – especially the kind with tram benefits! 🙂
Of course, there were meltdowns. More than usual. All by the four year old. I’m at a complete loss when it comes to these girly emotional breakdowns. It’s been one of those weeks. Is it just a “phase?” There is all this sassiness and talking back all of a sudden. Is four the new two? I discipline every time but it doesn’t seem to be helping. I. am. tired. Anyone with experience in this department….advice welcome! 🙂 I pray for patience and wisdom. Lots of it!

Dont pray for patience! you may find yourself dealing with it longer JUST TO TEACH YOU! 🙂 Pray for God’s Mercy!! 🙂 It’s a phase. Cash goes in and out of it. Just pushing boundries. Just hold your ground, and be consistent!
