The bird and I had a blast making these wooden spoon puppets today!
Two dollars well spent! I got them at the Dollar Tree – one dollar for a pack of 4 wooden spoons of varying lengths. Sweet.
First, she decided who the puppets would be. Then she drew the faces. We had 8 spoons – and she chose 8 members of our family.
Then she chose yarn and scraps of fabric (mostly old or stained clothes from my craft stash) for each person. I glued the ‘hair’ and ‘clothes’ on since I was using hot glue. I contemplated letting her do it with tacky glue, but decided that it would take too long to dry and we wanted to have a puppet show SOON!
Good choice.
It was a very easy and cute project. The bean is super pleased with them too. She was so excited to tell him who each puppet was. Cute.
Grandma and Grandpa
Mommy and Daddy
Lucie and Sam (complete with snoogy)
Michael and Judah (my sister’s kids)
I made a quick little puppet theater out of a copy paper box, but some of the spoons were too tall for it……..and the bean kind of smashed it anyway. It was a fun little theatre while it lasted. The puppets are still super fun without a venue. ๐
very sweet!
So cute!! My nieces would love these!!
