If you live in or around Cincinnati, then you already know that Izzy’s has amazing food. They are home of “World Famous Rueben’s” and ridiculously amazing pickles and potato cakes. Seriously, I could eat a barrel of those pickles. (And maybe I have. I mean, they leave them right out there on your table. What’s a girl supposed to do?)
So, if you don’t know anything about Izzy’s, here’s a quick intro. It was founded in 1901 by Izzy Kadetz, Izzy’s was the first Kosher style delicatessen west of the Alleghenies. Consistently named the “Best Deli in Cincinnati”, and known as the home of the “World’s Greatest Reuben,” Izzy’s still serves the classic homemade recipes Izzy Kadetz was handed down from his father dating back to 1901. So there you have it. You want to go there don’t you!?
Izzy’s is heading into summer with a few new additions to their menu, Pesto Turkey BST, cucumber salad, and tomato basil soup!
The new sandwich, the Pesto Turkey BST (bacon, spinach, tomato) features Izzy’s oven roast turkey breast, topped with thick cut, applewood smoked bacon, fresh spinach and tomatoes, dressed with pesto mayonnaise and finished with a toasted telera roll. The Pesto Turkey BST sandwich comes served with Izzy’s new cucumber salad.
New salad! Yes…they have also introduced a new salad, Izzy’s Cucumber Salad. It is freshly sliced cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, red onions and feta cheese all tossed in an Italian dressing. Sounds refreshing.
And Izzy’s new Tomato Basil Soup looks amazing too. I’ve never met a tomato soup that I haven’t liked, and this one sounds like no exception! Vine ripened tomatoes are pureed and slowly simmered with fresh basil leaves in a veggie broth that is accented with cayenne pepper, roasted garlic and a hint of chipotle flavor. Oh man! That sounds so good.

The Trio Salad is my fave thing on the menu.
The Uncle Ron is my favorite!
I could eat my weight in pickles! Plus, I really like the potato cakes!
Love Izzy’s potato latkes! Probably the best latkes I’ve ever had!
