tuesday tip – easiest popsicles ever

June 29, 2011 by Erin 3 Comments

(these beauties above are Martha’s….so lovely but you need 9 ingredients including…a vanilla bean, Chambord & apricot nectar! So, I will just be admiring the picture – clearly not the easiest popsicles ever!)
Ahh popsicles. I love popsicles. And my kids adore them. There are all kinds of recipes out there that I want to try this year. Here are a few that look super good (and pretty easy) to me……

Rootbeer Float Popsicles with a surprise cherry in the middle!
(at erincooks.com)

Orange Banana Pops – they’re just so pretty!
(from Country Living)

Spiked watermelon pops! Yes please!
(from Giada and the Food Network)

Green Smoothie popsicles. A fun way to get your greens!
(from Amy at New Nostalgia)

Coconut Cream pops. Only 3 ingredients….I want them now!
(from Smile Monsters)
And Tipnut has a list of over 50 AWESOME looking homemade popsicle recipes.
But so far these are the only ones I’ve “made”. haha.
The Easiest Popsicles Ever…..
These Stonyfield yogurt tubes were on manager special at my Kroger a few weeks ago. They are usually $2.99 so I very rarely buy them…..but at $1.25…..I bought them all. There were 6 boxes … too many to eat in a week, so I threw most of them in the freezer. And now we have frozen yogurt treats anytime. We’ve even had our “popsicles” for breakfast! Now, they even walk right past those colorful Flavor-ice tubes at the store and don’t beg! They know ours are better. Sweet.
Very well received by my goofy kidlets. And no popsicle could be easier to make! 🙂

I have twin nephews (age 6 and a half) who visit pretty often – if I make some popsicles for them next time they come, I will be (please excuse the pun) the coolest auntie ever! And since I love popsicles too I can see me making quite a few!

You know…I have had popsicles on the brain, too. YUM.

We do this too! The boys love it. Thanks for stopping by my blog today!! The fabric on my bench was actually an old shower curtain I had from Garnet Hill. I didn’t see that they still have it. Love that place though…here’s the link if you’ve never been there http://www.garnethill.com/?SourceCode=E1W43B&cm_guid=1-_-100000000000000000535-_-6530236690&cm_mmc=Google-_-Garnet+Hill+-+Branded-_-Garnet+Hill+-+Brand+Name+%3EGeneral_Exact-_-garnett+hill
