Grab your boots and your cowboy hats!
The TENTH annual Old West Festival is back in town! It promises to transport visitors back in time to an authentic Dodge City Wild West town circa 1878!
The Old West Festival is coming back to Ohio and bringing the wild west to life for 6 weekends! (September 9th through October 15th, Saturdays and Sundays 10 a.m.-6 p.m. – Rain or Shine)
Each weekend has a different theme. AND you know how much I.LOVE.A.THEME!
Check out the details about each of the themes and freebies plus the schedule here.
Saturdays and Sundays 10-6
Here is a bit about the theme weekends left. Get yourself there.
9.9.17 – Family Weekend. Seniors get in for 1/2 off and they will be giving away a kids jeep.
9.16.17 – Faith Weekend. Special concert after the fest featuring Gary Strong and Hard Times.
9.23.17 – America’s Pasttime Weekend. Watch live old time baseball games.
9.30.17 – Romance Weekend. Renew your vows in the church and buy a rose.
10.07.17 – Hero’s Weekend. Military, Veterans, EMS, Police and Firefighter all get in for FREE!
10.14.17 – Halloween Weekend. Kids in costume get half off. Trick or treat through the town.
This old west town has everything you would expect to see in a real western town if you stepped back in time. You will enjoy gun fights, awesome root beer, saloon shows, gunfights, jailbreaks, trick shooting and more!! There are period interpreters in the streets performing the rolls of cowboys, storeowners, residents and outlaws!!
My kids LOVE it. We’ve been a few times and can’t wait for this year, too. The first 500 kids each day also get a coupon for a kids meal at City BBQ.
This year there are some new cast members including “Kowboy Kal”, a Guinness Book or World Records’ record holder champion trick-Roper, and sharp-shooter Annie Oakley!
At 10:15 daily the kids can get sworn in as deputies and enjoy old-timey puppet and magic shows.
You can get a warrant and have the sheriff put the kids or hubs in jail. Awesome! This will be happening again.
There are sing-a-longs and story times and historic games. They can take a train ride, pony ride and a covered wagon ride! They can even pan for gold!
They can learn a little 3 card Monty.
Or learn some new skills.
Good old-fashioned family fun! I can’t wait.
