I have been an entrepreneur for almost 2 decades. While many of my clients are shopping, wrapping and baking, I am planning.
Here are 3 things I do every December to prepare for January 1.
#1 Prepare your Planner
I have moved to an online Google calendar for scheduling meetings and appointments, but I still use a paper planner to track my goals, mileage and business tasks.
Last summer, I worked with Celia and created my very own custom planner. If you represent a direct sales company, take a look!
Your planner might be a binder. Take some time to really think about what forms you need to successfully run your business.
#2 Schedule your social media
Last year I found myself on Facebook on Christmas Eve and the day after Christmas. I was surprised that I had time to surf the web. This year, I know I will glance at updates here and there.
Strategically schedule your photos and updates for your business ahead of time. I use ViralTag for Pinterest and Buffer for Facebook.
#3 Plan any specials you want to offer of classes you are developing for January NOW!
Last week, I held webinars to introduce the Organize 365 Teams I am creating to help women in direct sales brand and blog about their businesses.
Yesterday, I wrote a post about it, and tomorrow I will send out an email to my direct sales newsletter list.
People are ready to GO right after Christmas, so if you wait until January 1 or later to promote your new offerings, it’s too late.
What do you have to offer your clients the last week in December?
Think about yourself. Yes, you may have credit card bills from Christmas, but you are also likely to have some extra spending money or gift cards.
I tend to do a lot of organizing during the 16 days the kids are home. Yes, I LOVE organizing, but I am seeing my friends get the organizing bug, too.
Organizing is something you can do as a family, and you can do it while your kids are around. Actually, you can organize them!
So, is there something your business offers that people will naturally want on December 27? How can you get that message out?
