School of Rock is coming to the Aronoff Feb 21 – Mar 4 , 2018!
I was so stinking excited for this show. I absolutely LOVE the movie and have seen it more times than I can remember. I know it’s kind of oldie but it’s one of my favorites. I used to show it every year as a popcorn/movie reward for my students. And they all loved it too! You should check out the film, if you haven’t seen it yet.
But, the Broadway show…..was even more spectacular.
I was thrilled to get to see it as a musical on the Broadway stage. It was so much fun and the kids were simply amazing musicians. They all played their own instruments and were ridiculously talented. The music was remarkable and the audience had such a blast with the show, that it almost seemed interactive.
If you have a chance to check it out, you must. What a great show!
“Based on the hit film, this hilarious new musical follows Dewey Finn, a wannabe rock star posing as a substitute teacher who turns a class of straight-A students into a guitar-shredding, bass-slapping, mind-blowing rock band. This high-octane smash features 14 new songs from Andrew Lloyd Webber, all the original songs from the movie and musical theater’s first-ever kids rock band playing their instruments live on stage.”
