Nashville Hot Chicken Pizza and a {Giveaway}

May 28, 2017 by Erin 3 Comments

I love pizza.  Seriously.  I think it’s the world most perfect food.  Whenever my kids play the “If you’re stranded on a desert island and could only take one food for the rest of your life” game.  My answer is always pizza.

We recently went OUT for pizza.  Like we ate it in the pizzeria!  It was so much fun.  Nostalgic even.  Typically pizza night around here is “delivery”, “frozen from the grocery store” or “DIY make our own”.  Those are all at home.  It was really fun to go out for pizza.  We’re going to do it more often.

We ended up at the Donatos right up the street from our house and were really excited to try their newest creation.  The Hot Chicken Pizza.

“Following an overwhelmingly positive response to Donatos Hot Chicken Pizza in Nashville, Donatos will be offering Hot Chicken Pizza and Hot Chicken sub in all locations. The Hot Chicken Pizzas and Subs feature the bold flavors of crispy hot chicken, Pepper Jack cheese, jalapenos, dill pickles, and a drizzle of Ranch dressing. The pizzas are available on Donatos Famous Thin crust, thicker crust, hand tossed crust and gluten free crust. The subs are available on a white or wheat bun.”

Sounds good right?!  Those geniuses in Nashville.  My family all loves spicy, so this is right up our alley.  We really like the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwiches popping up all over the place.  You just can’t go wrong with crispy hot chicken, pepper jack cheese, jalepeno pepper, dill pickles and ranch!   So stinking smart to put it on a pizza!

It was a huge hit.  We got it on their thin crust, (although you can get it on any crust or even as a sub sandwich.) OK.  Not lying.  It was spicy.  The chicken was flavorful and the pickles added a nice tangy crunch.  And the ranch helped cool it down a bit.  I dipped mine in extra ranch.  YUM!

We also got the Founder’s Favorite Pizza, just in case we couldn’t handle the heat.  It has Heritage pepperoni, family recipe sausage, shaved ham and banana peppers.  It was really great.  I love anything with banana peppers.  But, we ate the Hot Chicken Pizza first.   It was the star of the dinner show.

They also have a few other new menu items.  The Family Recipe Meatballs with marinara sauce, real Wisconsin aged and smoked Provolone and Romano cheese and Italian seasoning were really tasty!  And  with 12 meatballs per order it’s perfectly sharable.

And for dessert we tasted the two new desserts!  They were both great, but the Triple Chocolate Chunk Cookie was AMAZING!  It’s made with Belgian bittersweet chocolate, semi-sweet and milk chocolate chips, pure cane brown sugar and pure Madagascar bean vanilla.  OH MY.  So good.

The kids liked the Fudge Brownie with real semi-sweet chocolate chips, unsweetened chocolate and cocoa better.  But they are wrong.  haha.

If it’s been a while since you’ve gone out for pizza….check out the new menu items at Donatos.  Of course, you can pick it up and they also deliver….but it was really fun to eat there!

And definitely get the Hot Chicken Pizza.  It’s a unique taste and a clever take on the Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich.  It was so good as a pizza!  We loved it.

Do you want to win one?  Donatos is letting me give one large Hot Chicken Pizza to one of you lovely readers!!  Enter Below.

    My son loves spicy foods! He puts hot tabasco sauce on EVERYTHING! I can handle it, if I have enough water available! So, my son would be the person I’d share this pizza with!

    I love spicy foods. I would share with my twin girls who are also spicy fanatics. Nashville is our second home, but i’ve never heard of this pizzeria. We will have to stop in our next visit.
