This summer we decided to take the kids on a pilgramiage to my husband’s beloved homeland of Wisconsin. It was great. We caught up with friends and family and had a wonderful time swimming in Lake Michigan. There were picnics and a parade! Good times.
While we were there we spent one day at the Milwaukee Zoo! I seriously love checking out new zoos when we travel. We had a blast. The first thing on our agenda when we got there was Sky Trail Wisconsin.
Sky Trail Wisconsin is located right when you walk into the zoo, just south of the penguins!
You seriously can’t miss it! It’s big!
Sky Trail Wisconsin a HUGE two level adventure rope course and a CTS Zip Line.
The Sky Trail Explorer adventure ropes course stands 45 feet high with 3 levels of elements made of horizontally strung cables, ropes, boards and obstacles for participants to test their agility and balance on.
It’s made of 30 exciting elements including zig-zag beams, cargo nets, angled rope ladders, crisscross walks and more.
Geared up and ready to go! (I’m a little nervous.)
They even have Sky Tykes, an adventure rope course specifically for kids under 48″ tall. 2-7 year olds. The littles. It is only a couple of feet off of the ground, so the kids are at a comfortable height.
My son (even though he is over 48″ and could go on the big one) decided to start on the small one. It was perfect to warm up and help him gain confidence. GENIUS! He moved right up to the big one and did great.
My daughter decided to do the big one straight away and she has no fear. Like, NONE! ZERO. ZILCH. She was doing the skinniest rope walks at the highest heights right away.
Look at this kid!
My husband and the bird also did the zip-line. They enjoyed a tree top, zipping experience, 45 feet above the zoo grounds and got to soar 500 feet down and back! They had a blast.
It was my husband’s first time and Lucie’s second! (He’s scared of heights, but did it anyway!)
Just a day of facing fears at the zoo!
Kevin zipping!
My sweet little 8 year old zip-lining over the zoo like a pro. #nofear
The staff were very friendly and fun. They took time to make sure we had all of our gear on correctly and understood the rules. I was impressed.
And the best part of Sky Trails Wisconsin is that it’s inside of an AMAZING zoo. I loved everything about this zoo.
They have a ropes course for the primates and a ropes course for the peoples.
They have a lovely lake with willow trees all around it.
There were gorgeous shaded places to sit and have lunch.
And lots of animals.
Yes, that’s Lucie with a zebra shirt on in front of the zebras. I am totally that person.
And yes, that is also Sam in front of the rhino while wearing a shirt with a rhino on it. Again, I’m that person. See above. I just can’t help myself!
We had a blast Sky Trail Wisconsin and the Milwaukee County Zoo. It was a perfect day. I highly recommend it.
