I think it’s so important to eat dinners together as a family as much as possible. I know that I’m lucky, because my kids are still pretty little. Right now it’s fairly easy to control our activities at dinner time. But, we’ve had our fair share of soccer and basketball practices that interfere with dinner time. We usually just eat earlier, but I know it will be more difficult to manage that as the kids get older. I still plan on making a strong effort to maintain our family dinners. It was important to my family when I was growing up too, so that makes it easier for me to make a priority. It’s how I was raised! And research has found that “family meals eaten at home have been proven to benefit the health and wellness of children and adolescent, to fight obesity, substance abuse and make families stronger – creating a positive impact on our communities and our nation as a whole.” So, that’s some important stuff. It’s important enough for me to make an effort to keep up with our family dinners. (They didn’t even wait for me!)
Home cooked family meals don’t have to be intimidating. Honestly. They can be wholesome and home cooked in about 10 minutes. Then you still have time to get to soccer practice.
Check out this amazing 10 Minute Chicken Stir Fry with Noodles. My family ate it right up. And it could not be more simple to put together. I use HORMEL ® House Of Tsang Sauce for this dish because it’s delicious and helps make meal preparations quick and easy. Win. Win.
What you need:
- 1 pound of chicken, cubed
- 4-6 cups of frozen vegetables, Asian style,
- 1 bottle of House of Tsang Stir-Fry Sauce
- 3 packages Ramen noodles, spice packet discarded
What you do:
- Heat a bit of oil in a frying pan on medium high (or wok if you’re lucky enough to have that). Add the cubed chicken and cook until chicken is done. About 5 minutes.
- While the chicken is cooking, cook the veggies in the microwave according to package.
- While the chicken and veggies are cooking, put a pot of water on to boil, for the ramen. As soon as the water boils add the ramen. Keep a close eye, ramen only takes a minute or two.
- Add the cooked veggies to the chicken and stir.
- Add the sauce to the chicken and vegetable mixture.
- Add cooked noodles to the plate and top with chicken, veg, sauce mixture.
- Waalaa. Enjoy!
And while you’re in the Asian section getting the House of Tsang stir fry sauce, grab a box of fortune cookies. Why not!!?? Who doesn’t love a fun little dessert? 🙂
House of Tsang makes preparing Asian food easy and delicious. They have oils, stir-fry and simmering sauces that will make your mouth water. I love the peanut sauce too. It’s so good and you can make amazing chicken lettuce wraps in a snap with it.
