DIY Pizza Night

June 22, 2015 by Erin 3 Comments

My sweet little Bird just turned 8 this month!  EIGHT!  I can NOT believe how fast that happened.  I know, I know.  Everyone tells you how fast it will fly by, but you never really believe it until it happens.

The days are long but the years are fast, my friends.  True story. pizza2

I’ve had a blast planning all of her birthday parties and we’ve done some super fun ones.  (I really need to post about them.) A strawberry party, a rainbow art party, a horse party, a wild animal party, a tea party, a cupcake party.

We get pretty creative with the themes around here.  But this year, she requested a SLUMBER PARTY!  “An American Girl Doll Slumber Party” to be exact.  What?  I’m not sure I’m ready for all of this.  (She got an American Girl Doll for her birthday thanks to Grandma and Craigslist.)  So, we invited 8 of her friends (and their dolls) and they had an exhasted, late night, sugar high, dancing, crafty blast.  Way more on the party later.

We decided that dinner for the party would be “make your own” pizzas.  The girls each made their own and had so much fun doing it.  I set up all kinds of different toppings and just let them have at it.  They had a great time and they kept telling me how good the pizza was!  I used these cool Make-N-Bake Pizza kits that I got at Walmart.  The crust was really, really good.

Seriously, you need to try these kits.  They are so much better than frozen pizzas and so much more fun than delivery!

I found them in the dairy isle by the refrigerated cookie dough.  The Family Finest Make-N-Bake Pizza Pak includes everything you need!  Each box includes ingredients to make four personal homemade pizzas. 4 delicious, authentic pizza doughs, individual packets of Italian pizza sauce, mozzarella cheese and lots of pepperoni.

And here is my BIG HINT for a simple and successful pizza bar night!

I had all kinds of fantastic extra toppings to make the DIY Pizza Bar more fun for the girls.  I had mushrooms, olives, bacon, onions, ham, a few kinds of peppers and more.

Aanndd….I got it all off of the salad bar at my grocery store.  It’s so simple.  No cleaning or chopping.  No leftovers.  I LOVE utilizing my salad bar.

I can get such a huge variety of things, but only get as much as I need.  Keep the salad bar in mind the next time you have a pizza night!  It’s usually cost per pound, so it’s very reasonable, since none of my pizza toppings were heavy.  I would have paid triple if I bought them all individually.  Not to mention all the cleaning and chopping.

pizza7 Family Finest Make-N-Bake Pizza Paks are perfect for so many things…. after school snacks, Friday night family parties, college dorms, sleepovers, pool parties and appetizers. Easily make one to four homemade pizzas at a time with our convenient re-sealable cheese, pepperoni and sauce packs.”

Would you like to win coupons for 4 packs of your own?  Have your own pizza night and let me know how it goes.  Enter by leaving a comment on this post.  What’s your favorite pizza topping?

Disclosure:  Family Finest provided coupons for pizza kits for myself and for the giveaway in exchange for promotional purposes.  All opinions are 100% my own.

My favorite pizza topping is pepperoni. Cheese is a close second.

    Roasted garlic…mushrooms and onions?

    Hard to pick one!

[…] We had Make Your Own Pizzas for dinner.  And that was great.  So, for dessert, I thought it was fitting to have an Ice Cream Float Bar.  It was a HIT!  They went crazy for all of the combinations they could create.  It was hilarious to watch them pass the pop (or soda, depending on where you live) and ice cream around the table.
