We stinking love our aquarium. Seriously! We’re fortunate to live so close to one of the top aquariums in the country. The Newport Aquarium never disappoints. Every time we visit we see something that we missed the time before.
Impromptu dance party under the sea.
And they’re always adding awesome new things….like extremely rare Scalloped Hammerhead Sharks!
They actually have the most scalloped hammerhead sharks on exhibit in North America (and there are less than 20 places in the whole world that even have them on exhibit at all!)
I can’t wait to watch these sharks grow. They’ll triple in size and get up to 14 feet long and over 300 pounds!
And you can enjoy these sharks from an extremely interesting vantage point, because Shark Bridge is now open! Experience sharks like never before.
It’s the only rope suspension bridge in North America where you can walk inches above 2 dozen sharks!
It’s a 75-foot-long V-shaped roped suspension bridge that hangs over open waters filled with sharks, shark rays, stingrays and hundreds of fish! And it’s awesome!
It moves just a little bit when you walk, making it even more scary and fun!
This is a fun, family-friendly adventure that you can only get at Newport Aquarium! And it’s included in the price of admission. You can opt out of the bridge and watch from the side. Or you can go over it as many times as you want, like we did. My kids went over at least 10 times! haha.
Do you dare to cross?
Be sure not to miss Canyon Falls while you’re there.
There’s so much to see in there, including chameleons and sweet little otters that I could watch all day.
This boy loves sharks! Can’t get enough. So, now in one visit, you can watch sharks, pet sharks and walk inches above sharks!
Check the website to plan your visit.
Newport Aquarium is located at One Aquarium Way, Newport, KY 41071
And follow Newport Aquarium on facebook to stay up to date on new exhibits, contests and deals. (There’s a sweet contest going on right now actually.)
Disclosure: I was invited to preview the Shark Bridge at a media event. All opinions are my own.
Oh my gosh! We love the aquarium. Can’t wait to take our daughter across the shark bridge!
Pretty sweet. I didn’t realize the fish at the aquarium were that BIG! Thanks!
Thanks for sharing pics of the Newport Aquarium. I think it would be a great summer trip for our family this year. We live in Louisville and I’m always looking for places to make a day trip too.
