Thank you to Carefree RV Resorts for sponsoring today’s post and giving me the opportunity to spend the summer camping on Canada’s beaches and giving me an idea of where to camp this summer.
Well, do you want to know where to camp this summer? I come from a long line of campers. My mom’s from Canada and my parents actually met while on a camping trip in the great north!
The story goes…. that dad and his buddy were canoeing past my mom and her friend. And he thought she was cute. So, naturally, he decided splashed them with his oar. Aaannnd the rest is history, as they say. We used to go to Ontario every year to visit family when I was a kid and I loved it. Now that I have kids, I want to take them!
I am super blessed that my parents own a camper and we get to go with them from time to time. We have a blast. It’s an such affordable way to travel and take a vacation and it’s always a good time. There are just so many options.
Where to Camp This Summer
Have you been camping with the family? I know it’s not for everyone. And I am a much bigger fan of camping in a camper than I am camping in a tent. Everyone should give that a try. It’s so much easier with kids. And really, “camping” in a cabin is even better.
We are always on the look out for new places to go. I just found out about Carefree RV resorts. And they sound awesome. The have 15 RV resorts scattered around Ontario from Muskoka, Prince Edward Island, Windsor and the Greater Toronto area. My mom is going to be so excited.
Camping memories will last a lifetime. Campfires, s’mores, crafts, games, fishing, swimming, playgrounds, ice cream. We enjoy taking our vacations up north anyway. They have nice warm days and cool nights and natural beauty of local lakes.
Check out these places.
One of the places that sound amazing to me is Sherkston Shores. It’s located on the beautiful sandy shores of Lake Erie and offers 560 acres of beautiful landscape, topped off with two and a half miles of sandy beachfront. Keep yourself busy with pools, water slides, splash pad and a quarry stocked with fish. Just 90 minutes away from the Greater Toronto Area and minutes away from the US border, Sherkston Shores is a fabulous vacation alternative that offers so much more. RV sites, rustic cabins and a range of vacation cottages are available for rent.
Or how about Willowood? It’s located just 20 miles of both Windsor, Ontario and Detroit, Michigan making it a top destination for both U.S. and Canadian families. They have 329 RV sites with fire rings as well as cabin and park model rentals available. They also have a playground, horseshoe pits, sand volleyball courts, an outdoor movie theater and miniature golf course. Keep cool relaxing and swimming in the large pool, kiddie pool and splash pad area. There’s even an arcade room to entertain the kids on rainy days. They have a fun social calendar that includes story time, chocolate bar bingo, crafts, potlucks, dances, hayrides and movies.
Doesn’t that sound fun! Don’t you want to go? Unplug and reconnect with those that mean the most to you! Make some memories. Go camping! You don’t even need an RV. They have a range of rentals available from rustic cabins to rent or even vacation cottages for sale.
There is no better way to spend your summer. Days filled with kids activities, biking, bird watching, kayaking, canoeing, paddle boating, or scuba diving to cool off. Nights made up of family movies, campfires, and talent shows. If you are looking for an unforgettable family summer vacation, look no further than the Carefree RV Resorts in Ontario!
