Outdoor entertaining season is upon us! And I have two amazing recipes for you today.
We were invited to our first cookout of the summer this past weekend and it was so much fun! The kids played near the pool (since I didn’t bring their suits.) But, they were so wet by the time we left, that I should have just let them jump on in. They were so happy to see a pool again!
Good friends, good food, good times.
We brought two different tasty BBQ recipes and a spicy sweet potato salad. The kids and I really love BBQ. I get it everywhere we go, especially when we travel. I like to find the best BBQ of whatever place we are visiting. But, I’m super intimidated to make it at home. It seems so hard and time consuming and I wouldn’t really know where to start. So, I’ve never tried. Enter the Hormel Lloyd’s Barbecue tub. I had no idea these even existed! The BBQ was so tasty and flavorful. Tangy and delicious. It makes it easy for us to make any night a BBQ night from now on!
The first recipe are these delicious Asian Slaw BBQ Muffins. They couldn’t be easier and they are really good. Devoured.
Asian Slaw BBQ Muffins
What you need:
- 1 tub of LLOYD’S BBQ (you only need half)
- 1 package of refrigerated biscuits
- Asian Slaw (recipe below) You could also very easily substitute regular prepared cole slaw. These would be just as good. We just really like Asian flavors around here.
- Muffin tin
Asian Slaw
Combine 2 tsp sugar, 2 tsp rice vinegar, 2 tsp coarse mustard, 1 teaspoons soy sauce, 1/4 cup mayonnaise, 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil, 1 teaspoon fresh grated ginger, 5 cups of shredded cabbage (red and green), 1/4 cup chopped cilantro. Set aside.
What you do:
- Using a rolling pin (or a drinking glass if you don’t have one!) roll each biscuit until flat.
- Press one flattened biscuit into each well of the muffin pan.
- Add 1-2 TBS of BBQ into each muffin.
- Bake according to directions on the biscuit package.
- Let cool and add a spoonful of slaw to the top of each muffin.
- Serve and enjoy.
The next BBQ recipe is even easier than the first!! As a super simple appetizer, I used the rest of the LLOYD’s BBQ tub to make PIZZA! It was also eaten right up. It doesn’t even have to be an appetizer. It could be a meal!
The Easiest BBQ Pizza Ever
What you need:
- 1 tub of LLOYD’S BBQ (you only need half)
- Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
- Pizza Crust
- Cilantro (optional) I always have it because I love it! Green onions would be great too.
Spread a nice layer of BBQ on each pizza crust. What you do:
- Top with cheese.
- Bake until melty.
- Garnish. Slice. Eat.
So, these recipes are super simple, but you could forgo them all together and just make classic BBQ sandwiches. Who doesn’t love that? We even had sliders for lunch! 🙂
