Hello crafty friends!! I am excited to be here today sharing this easy to make Spring wreath! I don’t know about you, but I am SO excited for Spring to be here! This winter was actually pretty warm, but, it was still winter! Spring is always a welcome season, no matter how mild or harsh the winter is. I am not a fan of winter.
For this craft project all you need is:
* wreath form (I used a foam one I bought from Michaels)
* strip of fabric (about 1-2 inches wide, the length will depend on how big your wreath is. I used two strips.)
* scrapbook paper of your choice
* brads, buttons, or rhinestones
* die cutting machine (this is optional of course! It makes it easier to make the flowers and words, but you can also use stamps and fussy cut them out and embellish them with products you have on hand if you don’t have a die cutting machine.)
* Glue
The first thing you do after cutting out your fabric is to start wrapping it around your wreath form. Use a glue gun or glue dots after every few wraps around the wreath to keep the fabric in place. Once you have the wreath wrapped in the fabric then put together your flowers and glue them on your wreath. I used these 4 files from the Silhouette Design Store: 3d accordian pleated flower, 3d Lori Whitlock flower, 3d Flower, and last but not least, another 3d Flower. I also bought the Welcome spring cut file from Silhouette.
To make the pink background all I did was select the word welcome and then hit the offset button on the bottom left hand side in the Silhouette Studio program.
Once you hit the offset button it will trace around the word welcome and create a background/shadow of the word. This is what it looks like.
Then all you have to do is drag the word welcome down and you have the 2 different shapes. Cut out the files in two separate colors and you have a nice layered word for your wreath.
I used hot glue to attach my flowers and the ‘Welcome’ phrase. I just used my xyron sticker maker to glue the word spring down on top of Welcome.
This wreath was a lot of fun to make and really easy. I love the way it brightens up my door. Thanks for stopping by today!! I hope you’ll come back for my post next month! Have a great weekend!
