Discovery Channel's Shark Week is coming back soon! It starts August 10th at 9:00! Yeah, baby! Do you get into Shark Week? We love it. And you know I can NOT resist having a little theme party! I have a whole Pinterest Board dedicated to Shark Week Ideas! Check it out.
We had a fun time celebrating 'shark style'.
We had a game of "Walk the Plank" (into shark infested waters, of course!) The object of of our game was to try and jump on a shark each round. Each fin was worth a different amount of points. My original plan was to have them be blindfolded, but it was a little too hard. I also wanted to get a blue tablecloth to make the water, but they were all out. It was still a blast. The kids thought it was hilarious.
Then, we made some fun sharks out of construction paper and paper plates. The kids loved this craft. I saw this clever idea, here, at Almost Unschoolers. I love the way they turned out. This was a super easy and cute shark project.
And then we finished up our celebration by grabbing the cousins and heading on over to Cold Stone Creamery and devouring some Great Blue Cupcakes. Did you know that Cold Stone teams up with The Discovery Channel for Shark Week? They've come together again to bring all of their fans an exciting summertime promotion just for Shark Week!
They've gone shark crazy and are celebrating with two new items.
- 6 packs of Great Blue Cupcakes. A rich chocolate cup filled with a layer of yellow cake and blue Sweet Cream Ice Cream topped with fluffy blue frosting and a gummy shark.
- Shark Week Frenzy Ice Cream Station. Blue Sweet Cream Ice Cream with graham cracker pie crust and gummy sharks.
Cold Stone will have these treats from July 2nd to August 17th. You can get them in-store or you can even order Great Blue Cupcakes Online at ColdStoneCakes.com! How handy is that?
Cold Stone has been serving up the finest ice cream for 25 years using high quality ingredients. And all of their ice cream is made fresh daily at every location. This makes for some FANTASTIC ice-cream. Just ask these little sharks. I think they liked it.
