Do you have a Bonefish Grill near you? We have one about 10 minutes away and we like to go there for special occasions. And for weekends. And for dates. And for no reason. And for Wednesdays. The food is always good. The Bang Bang Shrimp is amazing and it’s only $5 on Wednesdays at our location. Bang Bang Wednesday, Baby!! Love it.
I was excited at the chance to review some things off of their all new menu. There are a lot changes. Some of our favorites are gone (but the chef can still make them if we request it.) But, we actually might not even miss them with all of the great new things to try.
Sorry if my pictures don’t do the food justice. It’s dark in fancy restaurants! 😉
We ended up getting…
Watermelon Salad. This was so so good. Salsa verde mixed with arugula and English cucumbers, topped with Feta cheese crumbles, pepitas, creamy Feta cheese dressing. This was my favorite thing we ordered. The salsa verde was spicy and just perfect with the feta dressing. I liked the watermelon with the savory flavors, too.
Lobster Grilled Cheese. Oh man. The sandwich was perfect. Cheddar, smoked mozzarella, North Atlantic lobster chunks, and lobster bisque. YES. It was as good as it sounds. And the bread was a brioche, so it was sort of sweet. Serious grilled cheese perfection.
My husband got the Seared NY Strip Bowl. He really liked it. I had a few bites. It was good, but seared meat isn’t my thing. I’m more of a well done kind of girl. The kids loved it and gobbled it up. It came with marinated cucumbers, roasted peanuts, passion fruit salsa, green onions, carrots, jasmine rice and black pepper aioli. The aioli and salsa were amazing. All of their sauces are great, actually.
We got Herbed Couscous as a side and it was really good. The couscous was really large and the kids thought that was fun. I’ve never seen it so big before. The flavors were very nice. I have to find giant couscous now.
We also ordered the Porcini Mushroom Ravioli. I loved the fried sage on top and Kevin really, really liked it. The man does love ravioli. And mushrooms. I thought it needed a little bit of salt, Kevin disagreed. (I probably need to cut back on the salt!) It was very good. The mushrooms and sage went very well together.
And then a S’mores Flatbread for dessert. YUM! Creamy chocolate, toasted marshmallow and sliced almonds, sprinkled with graham cracker crumbs. This was very good. The chocolate was Nutella….so you can’t go wrong there!
I have my eye on the Shrimp Pad Thai for next time. It’s rice noodles, green onions, peanuts, egg and traditional Pad Thai sauce. I love Pad Thai. And the Cilantro Lime Shrimp Salad sounded amazing too. That has roasted corn, black beans, Feta, grape tomatoes, red onion, tortilla strips and cilantro lime vinaigrette. Pretty much anything with cilantro makes me happy!
And of course next time I want to try a Bang Bang Shrimp Flatbread appetizer. You can’t go wrong with mozzarella cheese, crispy shrimp, cilantro and that creamy, spicy sauce!
I’m not much into Ceviche, but a few people near us ordered the new Cold Snap Fresh Ceviche appetizer and it was impressive looking. Very fancy. It’s served in a frozen glass made entirely of ice and has chilled bay scallops, shrimp, fresh fish, vegetables, avocado, cucumber, jalapeño, citrus, cilantro and served with warm tortilla chips.
You can check out the new menu here.
We liked it all, but he kids liked the S’mores Flatbread the best! What would you like to try?
