Grow Some Family Time

April 22, 2014 by Erin 1 Comment

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Miracle-Gro for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

I just love Spring!  I love getting outside with the kids after a long winter and cleaning up the yard.  I love when everything starts turning green.  I love planning out our garden and what vegetables we will plant.  The kids love our garden as much as I do.  They help choose what veggies we will get and they help with the watering and the weeding and the picking!  Just so fun.  We eat from our little square foot garden all summer long.

We would eat from it all year long, if I could remember to can some of it!

We started by planting some of our seeds this weekend.  The weather was GORGEOUS, so we just had to get out there.  I should have started them inside a couple of weeks ago, but time got away from me.  Better late than never??  Maybe?  Can’t wait for these little babies to poke out of the dirt.  It’s really fun to start things from seeds.

I’d like to Gro Something Greater!

Hopefully I am growing the tradition of a life-long love of gardening and eating fresh, home-grown veggies.

I know that I am growing family time too.  Spending time outside with my littles is some of the best time!!  Theirs too, I hope!  🙂

I’m not actually an awesome gardener, but we do get by.  I like to use Miracle-Gro whenever we plant anything.  My flowers are lovely and I know that our veggies are huge because of the Miracle-Gro Organic Choice Plant Food that I use.  I do funny little things that I’ve heard about.  I use egg shells in the soil when I plant my tomatoes.  And I sprinkle coffee grounds on my garden every once in a while.  And I put pennies in the soil when I planted my hydrangeas.  (I heard it makes them more purple!?)  🙂

Are you a green thumb?

I’d love to hear your favorite gardening tips.  Please leave a comment and share a tip.

My little ones loves to help me plant flowers for the front house beds. We get to talk about seeds and plants…they get to make a mess than means they get to play in the water! A Win-Win for them!
